School Council visit to Parliament.

rgriffiths68

Our school council children in Year 3-6 attended a tour of Parliament today to learn more about democracy and how laws are put in place in Britain. They were able to see both the House of Commons and House of Lords up close and learn from an expert on parliamentary history on the tour. The children were accompanied by our acting assistant headteacher and school council lead Mr Griffiths and Rabia.

Lachlan Y6: I got a great insight into British history particularly the relationship between Kings and Queens of England with Parliament and how Parliament started.

Leila Y5: I learnt about the importance of laws are made. If you are expert you can help to make new laws by becoming part of the house of Lords

Axel Y4: I liked learning about the Commons room and the Lords room, and I was impressed by how big the place was!

All children will be learning this year about the Fundamental British Values: Individual Liberty, Mutual Respect, Tolerance of Cultures and Religions, Rule of Law and Democracy
